Fatma Oussedik

Professor of Sociology, University of Algiers 2

Fatma Oussedik is a professor of sociology at the University of Algiers 2. She obtained her Ph.D. after studying at the University of Algiers and the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

Professor Oussedik was the research director of the Center for Research in Applied Economics for Development (CREAD-Algiers) for several years. She was a guest professor in universities across Italy, France, and the United States. In 2019, she obtained the “Shared Knowledge” prize from the University of Manouba, Tunisia.

As an activist engaged in the struggles for equality between men and women, professor Oussedik acts as a member of several feminist associations and scientific councils.
